Is your animal family member struggling with pain or mobility issues? Could veterinary medical manipulation provide much-needed relief?
At Southlake Animal Hospital, we are committed to delivering the highest level of care through as many treatment options as possible. To that end, we are proud to offer veterinary medical manipulation, a.k.a. chiropractic adjustments, as part of our extensive list of services.
What is chiropractic care?
Chiropractic care involves the manipulation and readjustment of the body by a specially trained professional. These adjustments are strategically performed to restore proper alignment of joints, thereby reestablishing motion and movement and decreasing pain. With proper alignment, nerve function is restored and your pet’s body is once again allowed to communicate freely.
Will a chiropractic adjustment hurt my pet?
Veterinary medical manipulation is highly targeted yet surprisingly gentle. In fact, the majority of animals we treat become quite relaxed during a session. Pets typically sleep for a few hours following an adjustment, after which owners often report that they wake up relieved and revitalized.
How can I know if my pet needs an adjustment?
Symptoms of improper joint movement can vary greatly and may include discomfort, behavioral changes, lameness, and refusal to participate in normal daily activities. Other symptoms may be more difficult to identify because they adversely affect your pet’s nervous system. As such, regular adjustments to ensure proper nerve flow may be recommended.
Other applications…
Veterinary medical manipulation can greatly help pets that are obese or elderly, as well as facilitate a faster and more comfortable post-operative recovery period. Chiropractic adjustments can also help with a wide variety of other health issues, including incontinence, skin conditions, behavior problems, and gastrointestinal disorders.
