New Year’s Resolutions for People Owned by Cats

January 1 2018

Happy New Year! Are you making resolutions for 2018? If so, your kitty will no doubt be underfoot as you strive to make your new goals. In fact, why not include Fluffy in your resolutions? Read on as a local Crown Point, IN vet suggests some great resolutions for people owned by cats.

Provide Lots Of Napping Spots

Your furball will spend a good chunk of 2018 fast asleep. Make sure your kitty has lots of comfy napping spots to choose from! Pet beds are great, but you can also just put some blankets or pillows into a box or wicker basket.

Take Fluffy To The Vet

Make sure your kitty sees the vet regularly. Fluffy may not exactly be thrilled about the car ride, but she will look and feel better with proper veterinary care. Ask your vet to recommend an appointment schedule.

Play With Your Cat

Playtime is very important to Fluffy’s health and well-being. Take time to play with your cat every day. Hold a toy for your furry buddy to pounce on, or control a laser pointer so she can chase that elusive red dot.

Take Time To Relax

Cats are very sleepy, and can snooze up to 20 hours a day. Even when Fluffy is awake, she’ll spend a lot of time just lounging about, supervising her humans, and, of course, looking cute. Take time to relax with your kitty this year! It’s always nice to settle down after a long day with a good book or movie and your feline friend curled up on your lap.

Get Lots Of Cat Toys

Kitties can get bored and restless with nothing to do. Make sure Fluffy has plenty of fun toys to play with. Also, remember to regularly retrieve your furball’s toys from under the couch.

Do Some Petproofing

As you’ve probably noticed, cats aren’t always very picky about their choice of playthings. Be sure to remove anything potentially hazardous, such as plastic bags, wrappers, and ties; small or sharp objects; toxic plants; chemicals; and medications. Better safe than sorry!

Take Some Great Pet Pictures

Our feline friends are very photogenic! Remember to get some great pictures of Fluffy this year.
