Fido’s Holiday Wish List

December 15 2017

Believe it or not, the holiday season is already upon us. It’s always great to slow down and enjoy some quality time with friends and family members. It’s also a wonderful feeling when you know you’ve found the perfect gift for someone. Of course, your dog may have a wish list of his own. Read on as a local Crown Point, IN vet lists some of Fido’s top requests.

Treats

If there’s one thing our furry buddies love, it’s treats. Feel free to pamper your pup by giving him a special snack! Just be sure to only offer Fido safe, suitable foods. Plain, cooked meat, chicken, or fish with the bones, skin, and fat removed, are all good options. Store bought treats are also fine. If you enjoy cooking, you can even make your pet’s treats! Just be sure to only use safe, suitable ingredients. Ask your vet for specific advice.

Playtime

Did you know that playing with your dog regularly is one of the best things you can do for him? This is a great way to bond with your canine buddy! Playtime will also keep Fido active and entertained, which are both very important to his health and well-being. Spend a few minutes a day playing with your four-legged friend. This may be almost as much fun for you as it is for Fido!

Adventures

Man’s Best Friend definitely has an adventurous streak! If your daily walks always take you and Fido down the same route, give your furry pal a change of scenery this year. Take Fido to a new park or trail in 2018.

Toys

Dogs are very intelligent and playful, and can get bored and restless with nothing to do. Offer your canine friend lots of fun playthings. Puzzle toys are great, as they can keep Fido occupied for hours. Classic doggy toys are fine as well. You can also get your pet’s cute tail wagging with an automated laser pointer or a mechanical ball launcher.

Cuddles

At the end of the day, all Fido really wants is to hang out with his best buddy: you. Spend some quality time with your furry BFF this year. Don’t skimp on those belly rubs, either!
