6 Clever Ways to Hide Fluffy’s Litterbox

October 15 2017

There are certainly many things to love about our feline friends. Fluffy is not only super cute, she’s also very lovable and lots of fun. Another great thing about kitties is the fact that they are very clean, and need little or no training to learn to use a litterbox. However, while your pet’s private bathroom can definitely make your life easier, it isn’t necessarily going to do much for your décor. Read on as a local Crown Point, IN vet offers some great options for hiding litterboxes.

Upcycled Furniture

Check thrift stores and yard sales for old furniture. An old end table with doors can make a great spot for a litterbox. Just cut a door for Fluffy on one side, and use the doors for access. You can do the same thing with an old buffet or dry sink.

Folding Screen

A folding screen can also be used to hide litterboxes. Set it up kitty-corner, leaving just enough room for your kitty to get in and out. To protect the screen itself, hang some thick pieces of plastic on it.

Custom Pieces

There are now all sorts of custom pieces that are made specifically for hiding litterboxes. These pieces may cost more than the other options, but they’re quite attractive and should last quite a while. A quick online search will turn up a large selection to choose from.

End Table

An end table is another clever way to hide your kitty’s powder room. Get a covered box, and slide it under the table. You can drape fabric over the table to hide it. Adding a pet-safe plant on top will help mask the smell.

Storage Trunk

A storage trunk can make a great litterbox container! You can open the top to access it for cleaning, so all you need to do is cut a door for Fluffy in one side of it. Make sure it’s big enough to let some light in!

Tote

Another solution is to simply get a large storage tote and put the litterbox in that. As with the other options, you’ll need to make Fluffy a kitty door. Use paint, stencils, or contact paper to dress it up a bit and make it look nicer.
